Why would a guy reject you and then keep tabs on you on social media every day?

Happened to me. Got rejected by a guy 8 months ago and ever since I stopped following him on social media (as it was too hard for me to remain friends) he keeps tabs on me online everyday (especially when I post an instagram story and we aren't following each other).

If it was me in his position I'd say that I was curious as to why you were interested in me, if we were a potential match as well as if we would connect if I had developed feelings post rejecting you

Yeah his username always shows up in my instagram story that he's viewed it... and we aren't even following each other. He does it everyday.

I'm inept when it comes to most social media - so that's news to me that that's even a feature on IG

Well he probably feels terrible, I know I would if I rejected someone. I've been in that position of being rejected and trying to remain friends but I wouldn't take him keeping tabs on you a creepy, stalkerish thing. More of a protective or self guilt thing.
