What does it mean when a guy tries to impress you?

I feel like my crush is a completely different person around me and not in a good way. He's usually a super nice guy to everyone but he's always acting like a jerk towards me for no reason really. He's always trying to be cocky, a smartass and a "bad boy" but he's not like this with the other girls.

I also get the feeling that he's trying to impress me in some way because he seems very nervous and awkward around me and acts very weird. His behaviour is totally strange around me. What's up with him?

Acting like a cocky smartass badboy jerk is no way to impress a lady, he's probably feeling insecure that you won't like him for who he really is. Tell him you want him to act like his true self or to act like he does for everyone else.

I have been in the guy’s shoes before in this type of situation. That’s what I did when I had a big crush on this girl. She frazzled me whenever I was in a situation where I should/could have talked to her. As time went by I just got more and more awkward and confusing. I have no problem going up and talking to anybody, but I get real dumb around girls who I have real romantic interest in. The more I like a girl, the more idiotic I act. This obviously is not true for most guys, but that’s how I act unfortunately.
