What does it mean when a guy seems surprised when he sees you dressed up?

I had to go from one job to the next and was pretty dressed up (blue sundress; heels).

When I walked into the break room, a coworker (and friend) was back there. He gave me a shocked look with one eyebrow furrowed and the other raised but didn’t say anything. He typically at least says something. I said hello which he responded to with a quiet hi.

I’m just curious if that reaction meant anything or if I should just ignore it.

Well he was taken aback and never really thought you could look that beautiful (you know like how you dressed up that day)
It usually happens with me 😂 like normally I dress up kinda tomboy-ish and most of the times I avoid wearing jeans (just sweatpants and other comfy things) but when I do dress up, my friends (both guys and girls) be like, "Woah I forgot that you were actually a girl" 😂😂

I got really dressed up for our 10th wedding anniversary and I left my husband a little speechless.
When you don't normally see a person all done up you find yourself being amazed.

It’s retail so typically not anything super dressed up.

I work at a desk job before the retail one and it was a nice day out. Didn’t have time to go home and change between shifts

So you wore it because it was nice. I think he just enjoyed that you decided to do it up because it was nice out. That's why most people like to go live in places like L. A., where it's generally always nice. He was probably just excited that because it generally isn't nice out where you are, you wore it

Regardless of the desk job (you certainly coulc have still worn a pant suit or whatever). I don't know much about womens style
