Why do my crush's friends suddenly stare at me a lot?

I like this guy and there was a period of time where I would always look at him and observe him secretly from afar. He noticeably does the same thing to me, and we would sometimes accidentally catch each other looking at the same time and make eye contact. However, these days, his friends have been suddenly paying attention to me and trying to catch me whenever I look at my crush. Sometimes, I'd catch them making gestures or signals to my crush that I'm present whenever they find me. They always pass by wherever I am, and they smile at each other within their group of friends whenever I'm around.

What does this actually mean? Are they messing around? It makes me wonder about what they actually think..

They know you like him and that he likes you and pretty much just being guys by letting their friend know their crush is around. Guys kinda do that sometimes, they tend to pick on each other when they know one of their friends has a crush.

his buddies prolly caught him staring and decided to mess around with him. lol and when they see u two staring at each other they are prolly teasing him now that they noticed.

Aww haha I've actually thought of that but I'm quite divided since my crush is really hard to read. I think he controls emotions really well. Second, there are a lot of them in a group, so it also makes me confused about their real intentions because half of them stare me down intensely and observe me a lot as if I've done something wrong haha, while the other half simply stare at me in a light-hearted way without creeping me out. I'm very torn apart about this 😂
