I've known this guy for a several years now. It was always a kind of situationship but I think I might be interested in seeing if we could take our relationship more seriously, but I'm waiting to get some signs that he wants it too.
Our conversations have remained pretty surface level, with a few exceptions. And when I push him to open up, he tells me that I already know everything about him. I told him I cared about him, and he didn't respond out right. I got mad. And he apologized by saying that it wasn't that he didn't take what I said seriously but that he didn't respond with the same intensity. After that, he's tried to be more talkative (he said he was trying to be better at this in general).
I always thought he was into me, but now I am having doubts, and I don't think I can explore the possibility of us being together without a straight answer from him.
I'm confused because he seems to give me mixed signals. And if he didn't care why apologize and try to make things better? Why press me to be honest about my feelings (when I was pissed I tried to play it off and he told me not too) if he's not going to do the same?
