Why do some guys not like to swing arms while holding hands?

Whenever I try to swing our arms playfully while we're holding hands, he always grabs my hand really firm so that I can't swing them and gives me a serious look, so we just keep our hands down. He also holds them kind of firm with interlocked fingers and sometimes squeezes my hand.

Okay, not swinging their arms is a personal choice. Maybe he thinks it's kind of childish to do so. That is fine.

However I hope when he holds you hand he is not hurting you, I mean he is not squeezing your hand in a hurtful way, If he is then you need to tell him to stop.

For me it feels foolish. Every woman I have dated (2 lol) was more energetic and playful than I am. I think it is just a preference thing, especially as men get older. We do not like to show any kind of vulnerability in public.
