Why are guys so charming, respectful, polite and act like gentlemen when you first meet them but then become so rude, mean and disrespectful later on?

This seems to happen specifically with guys. I've noticed this quite often actually. After a few months or weeks of spending time with them, or befriending them they don't hesitate at all to act any way they want. But when they first meet a girl they are scared of saying anything "wrong" or something that would offend her in some way, they are way too nice when they meet a girl for the first time, then after a long while of befriending her he acts, does and says anything he wants to her without giving it a second thought... Can anyone explain this to me?

Because probably you do the same thing without noticing? And that's why you take things slow never pay attention to the stuff people do or say in the beginning of a relationship, they will reveal their selves eventually
