boyfriend and I have sex at least 4 times a month, we work insane hours at different times. All of a sudden he comes home and wakes me up for sex every night. His drive has skyrocketed. Talking with one of my bff about the amazing new drive she tell me it has to be because he is thinking about someone else because how quickly it changed is that true is that even a thing? I mean if it were true wouldn’t he just leave to go jump whoever else?

If he loves you, he's not thinking about someone else. Most, if not all men's sex drive is more frequent than 4x a month if they are around thier sex partner every day. Also, all men masturbate. My guess is he decided to stop masturbating as much and tried waking you up for sex instead, which in return pleases you/you're good with it, which gives him the approval to have more sex with you

Nah, if it was about someone else he'd go elsewhere. As the others have said your friend is an idiot. A person's sex drive can change for many reasons. He might even have wanted more sex before but didn't want to wake you up for it, but now you're doing that more he feels ok to do so.
