Guys: Why wouldn't you look at one particular girl in her eyes?

so there is this guy whom i noticed has glanced at me a couple times, sometimes from the corner of his eye but he never looks directly at me if I was looking in his direction. for example: today in class there was a girl who sat close to me and when she raised her hand in class to answer something he did not look at her. I have noticed this multiple times, and it only happens around me. He sometimes is quiet around me. So in the beginning of gym class he was talking to his friends he sits, right next to me (assigned seat) but then when class ended he kept his head down and was looking at the floor. I am not exactly intimidating in fact most times i am quiet so why would he do this? I do kind of like him (not crush like him though), but would he do this if he thought i have a crush on him?

Yes there is chance he could like you , usually we stare at corners of our eyes
or try making eye contact without the other person looking at us or catching us
looking at them yes all this happens when people like each other this is what happens.

If you kinda like him, try to small talk to him, break the ice, make the first move. Guys really find it difficult to make the first move. Even saying hi can be difficult believe me, I'm one of them

i know and i probably will sometime soon.. but why can't he look at me in the eye? Does he like me?

I think he's just the typical why guy. he's probably scared to get turned down. But I can assure you, he likes you, otherwise he wouldn't look at you that many times

he doesn't look at me too much. 4 or 5 times from the corner of his eye, sometimes at recess and that is about it.

My advise would be to just talk to him a couple of times. Sit ("accidently") next to him and make some comments on the lesson you're getting, or ask his opinion about a certain subject. And for bonus points, try it without your friends around, this may not give him the confedance he needs to talk to you

Maybe he does like you and is nervous. Try talking to him directly and see how he reacts.
