Best male friend is avoiding me after he kissed me. What could be the reason?

I know there are too many story like this and I should probably talk with him about this whole situation (which I'll do soon) ...

So my best male friend kissed me about two weeks ago (we were sober) and when I asked him why, he only said: it be like that when a person starts liking someone and he kissed me multiple times during the day. But now he's to avoiding me. Like, he let's me know that he receives my messages on IG and SC but never replies like he used to do. He doesn't show up when I want to see him or is looking for excuses. He doesn't call me like he used to and I am not ready *yet* to talk about it cuz I'm scared that I might ruin our friendship. He also used to talk a lot about our future and so on. Guys or Girls: What do you think of that and why could he possible act like dat? yeah, love's complicated.

It's NOT complicated, it's NOT complex, it's simple - it's called "fear". Fear of facing his own feelings, fear of "what does it all mean", fear of failure, fear of SUCCESS !, fear that "did I just commit to something? Is it what I really want?"... and more. Forget "love" for the moment - you're not even close. This is ALL about fear. That's why he's avoiding you, and facing his own fears, because if he sees you, he can't avoid them.

Since you had a positive response to his approach then I'm not really sure why he would ignore you unless he is still scared for some reason. I really hope it's not some other stupid reason, he should really feel lucky that you had a positive response.

I would suggest letting things be for a while think about where you want things to go. It can go one of three ways 1) boyfriend and girlfriend. 2) friends with benefits. 3) nothing at all and the relationship is over but if he truly wants something more he'll come around. Give it some time but not too much time. And if it takes too long you gotta just talk to him and ask him where he stands
