Why do guys formally end text conversations?

I’ve noticed a lot of time when I text guys on dating sites or via phone they tend to end conversations by saying “I’ll talk to you tomorrow” or “I’m driving - I’ll talk to you later” Etc.
It seems like an unnecessary step and kind of rude. Like if I’m done with texting someone- I just don’t respond until I’m ready to continue the conversation. A text conversation by nature is kind of a never ending conversation so it just seems odd to create “endings” or formally tell me you’re not going to talk to me.
Is this just a hint they aren’t interested? Why do they do this?

To be honest I didn't in the past but I had to start due to women that I was talking to. I would sometimes just read a text and if I was busy or working then I wouldn't reply and then more than once I was blown up on for leaving the woman "on read". It seemed petty to me, but if it avoids unnecessary conflict I'll say when I'm done talking.

"Rude" is what you're doing lol. Most people do this, both men and women.

If someone did this to me (just stopped responding), I assume they have little to no interest in me, or they have something better going on and like I'm bothering them or something (or else they'd respond). That's what I would take from it.

Well its not just that; you need to bear in mind that we probably taking fire, we are pinned waiting on charlie company to provide artillery support, then we will get to say things like 'fire for effect'.

At least those guys said 'I am driving' what they wanted to say was 'Maintain radio silence Im going dark'

I would say what you do is ruder, if you imagine each scenario as a real-life conversation
1. Have a conversation and end it with, I've got to go see you later
2. In the middle of a conversation, you walk off without saying anything

It's because they have good manners. They're providing an acknowledgement that for now they need to stop the thread because. .
. well for any number of possible reasons. It's a courteous thing to do.

Eh yeah I don't agree there. Ending a conversation is polite. I'd be more annoyed if I messaged and didn't get a response.

Well from my personal experience it's because we struggle about what's next and it kind of puts pressure on us to either keep the conversation going with interesting topics , and if we fail to do so we try to end it asap

How is this rude? I would say it's polite and they want to let you know that they won't be able to talk so that you do not wait and worry about getting the next message. That's polite and respectful in my eyes.

Really, I say only if I am very sleepy or actually get busy...

But I prefer tag line chat feature like in whatsapp or messenger or telegram

It's a way to tell the other person that the text is done and so you aren't sitting there expecting a reply or another message
