Another failed talking stage 😂?

A guy that I really liked asked me out and told me to pick the day. I picked the day and he told me he would let me know if something work related pops up. We spoke every day literally 24/7 until the ‘date night’ and he didn’t mention anything about work but then on the day he didn’t mention anything at all about the date and was just putting up stories of him out with his friends. I felt really upset and disrespected so without even saying anything to him I unfollowed and delete him off all socials and deleted his number also. He messaged me after I unfollowed him and said ‘why did you unfollow me? Just out of curiosity’ and I told him I was disappointed and he just replied ‘ok well nice speaking to you lol’. Did I make the right choice or overreact? The fact that he didn’t really show that he cared just made me feel so much better about getting rid. Or is he putting up a front?

Sorry I should’ve been more clear.. he told me to pick a date and insisted that he will keep the date free for me so I chose the day and then a day later he messaged me and said I will confirm if I’m not working and I said ok.. we then continued to talk everyday and he didn’t mention anything about whether he was working or not and then on the day we were supposed to be going on the date he obviously wasn’t working because he was putting up stories of himself out with his friends and still didn’t confirm plans with me

Okay, I'm sorry that happened to you, he was clearly not very interested, or had a more appealing offer come up... you will never know. Don't dwell on it, this has everything to do with him being a douche and it is not anything YOU did. I know you girls always think it's something you did... but definitely not here.
In the future, watch for the red 🚩 flags. There were a couple here.

Well first of all, he didn't nail down a SET date, time, place details etc. A guy REALLY wanting to take you out will do all that without being prompted. This sends the message: I'm looking forward to our date, this is when, where etc... if he doesn't do this it isn't necessarily game over, but red 🚩 flag nonetheless. Second, he 'set aside' a day to go out with you... and then he hedged about having to work? What kinda shit is that? That's when I would have been out. You did good, you didn't overreact.
