My ex boyfriend got super mad because I gave another guy my name at a bar, was I out of line?

I invited him out for New Years to a bar because we still hook up regularly and honestly we act like we together but aren’t because he has commitment issues. But anyways I invited him and while we were there a guy came up to us and introduced himself and asked for my name so I told him but then I said “I’m with him though” (my ex). Well my ex proceeding to spazz out and forced me to leave and in the car he started screaming at me saying I disrespected and embarrassed him and that I really messed up. He started hitting his steering wheel and screaming so loud every time I tried to tell him I wasn’t flirting and that I told him I was with him. But he says I should’ve pushed the guy and been rude to him. I’m not a naturally rude person so that comes kind of hard for me. I asked him why he can’t cuff me then and how it’s any different that he tried to text other girls and he said it’s different because I was doing it in his face, even though I wasn’t flirting at all. is he right in being this upset? I’m just confused
