I want to hear unbias opinions from people especially guys as you know male brains more than me
-It all started as an online friendship with a guy from another country. He was planning to move to my country to study for a few years and wanted to make friends with locals and I study his language at university so I wanted to be friends with him. He told me he had a girlfriend from the beginning. We became really close and spoke every day. I offered him to stay at my place over Christmas and new year so he wouldn't be alone in his uni accommodation.
few days before he arrived he told me him and his girlfriend were having some issues, don't love each other anymore and they will probably break up soon but he didn't have the guts to do it himself.
He landed here and in-person we got on just as well as online. In fact better. considering the world situation we were in my house 24/7 with just each other to keep ourselves entertained but it was great. I started to develop feelings for him and one night after drinking together we had sex. After this, we began to act like a couple until guilt hit both of us and his girlfriend called him for their daily chat. On Christmas eve he said we should stop until he ends things with her. Christmas day I kept my distance but he told me he liked me in the evening. The day after he phoned his girlfriend to break up but she told him she wanted to make it work and he agreed. So me and him decided to stop and live as friends... that didn't last long and we continued to show affection to each other and I fell more and more each day. New years eve he asked me to move in with him and kissed me but I got drunk and got upset and asked him if he loves his girlfriend. he said yes and told me he liked me, especially on Christmas day, but now he likes me as just a friend. since then we didn't do anything physical but he said he still wants to find a place to live together.
am i being stupid here? what do i do
