Guys, how friendly can you be towards a girl you’re not attracted to?

I have a guy friend who happens to reply to my stories frequently. Not just with those quick emoji reactions, I mean he actually writes his reactions to the stories. I know he’s not romantically interested in me and that he’s a nice person in general, but normally my other guy friends don’t respond as frequently as he does. Last time I saw him which was for his bday in November there was a point where we touched hands and he asked why my hands were so cold and he started to warm them up with his hands. Again I know he’s not romantically interested in me since I asked him about it after the party and he said no. He sometimes makes jokes with me/teases me when he chats with me. He’s even comfortable sharing content that he thinks is considered sexual. He might just be comfortable with me as a friend but it’s a new thing for me, so that’s why I’m asking.

Possibly but he also told me over the phone that he went on 3 dates with this other girl. He also told me that he’s sure I can find someone better than him. Not sure about the update on the girl but not sure how to ask. I don’t think he would lie about that though. Don’t you think he would’ve taken ME out on those dates instead?

I think when we have a crush on a girl, it makes it harder to make a move or be open. It's better to kiss someone before really liking them.

Well the thing is we met online last summer and went on a date and that didn’t go anywhere, so he thought we would be better off as friends and it’s been like that since then. Like yeah we still talk on IG sometimes and he’s intrigued in some of my stories and he’s even told me to send him some vacation pics to make him jealous (he had a snowstorm where he was at while I was in a place with sunny weather). He even told me to send him some sweets from the country I visited. Yeah I don't know man.

Right! That’s what I thought. I thought it was a huge sign but hey if he says he doesn’t feel that way about me I’ll take his word for it. Otherwise I feel like he would ask me to hang out more but we haven’t hung out since then.
