Guy kept watching my stories and then unfollowed?

There was a guy I added on Instagram and I liked his recent post. I posted a selfie of me on my Instagram story and after that he was always one of the first ones to watch my stories. I would sometimes watch his stories but not as fast as he would watch mine. He didn't make any extra steps towards me other then watching my stories so I stopped watching his stories because our relationship wasn't going any further then just watching each others stories , he watched my stories a couple more times and then stopped and unfollowed. He could've kept following me? Why would he just unfollow? Was he thinking that I would talk to him first?

Guys like him only add girls for entertainment and to get more number of followers/friends/views/likes on their profile.
