Guys, I need to know what he’s thinking?

I’ve been smiling at/exchanging glances with a guy at the gym for about a month now. He waves, nods, smiles at me when he arrives every morning and will look in my direction/smile/etc. while working out, too. I left him a little note under his workout notes before I left yesterday. It said “Your smile and energy is contagious! Kindness looks great on you.” This morning, he came in, smiled, mouthed “hey” (because I was wearing ear buds). When I got ready to leave, he stopped near me and asked if I “left him the sweet note yesterday”. I told him I did. He said it made his whole day and thanked me. Did not ask my name or number or anything. Was he just being polite to acknowledge the note. I’m def interested in getting to know him. Should I just leave it alone?

Damn, I guess I'd leave it alone. Continue friendly interactions and leave it up to him to move. You made your move, and it was a good one. At this point, he either needs to grow a pair and make a move, he's not single and he's desperately fighting the urge to make a move, or he's genuinely just being friendly.

This is exactly what I needed to hear, and kind of what I was thinking. I do tend toward being bold and going after what I want, BUT I’ve been out of the dating game for awhile, and I guess I’ve forgotten what it’s like to flirt and how to interpret it. I’ll leave it alone and see what happens, if anything.

Well, your note was kinda vague. Shit- If was going to go as far as leaving a note (which is a pretty bold move in itself), I would have been more direct about it.
