Male coworker asking questions outside work?

I'll just begin by saying he is quite a bit older than me. Always been a shy guy, but I've noticed he talks more confidently around the other women at work.
He's been asking me questions such as "How is your little girl?", asking how my partner is (and remembered his name). Asking about my hobby. I know for a fact he and his partner aren't on good terms. He told me that they sleep in separate beds. He also keeps saying to me "it's just him and his boy hanging out". He just seems quite nervous around me, compared to the others, especially when I was in a room with one other female colleague and he was talking to her. He seems interested in my life, but will also walk out of a room when I enter sometimes. What do you guys think?

I am 24, he's late 40's 🙈. I just always get this nervous energy around him. Like I feel he is uncomfortable around me. He leans in close, sweaty hands, toes ALWAYS pointing towards me. When we're talking he looks away or down a lot. He also will help me with little things every now and again.
