Why would he only want to Facetime?

I have a guy friend whom I caught up with recently and we texted in paragraphs for a month straight. Now we transitioned to FaceTiming and he only does it at night and we don’t really converse too much. He’ll be studying or on the computer. Now he only texts me to FaceTime him. I miss texting him but when I try to make a convo through text, he keeps it short. Could this mean something? He likes me? FaceTiming or texting would be better?

My boyfriend started doing the same thing and I realized that he wanted to see me and talk to my face, rather than just reading words. It really made a big difference between our relationship and I felt we just took things up 12 levels.


Maybe he wants to see your face and talk directly to you. Or maybe, he wants to have a solid conversation with you instead of typing things and not knowing if you are going to respond in a second or minute. It’s hard to express feelings and say things through words. It’s also awkward when you are about to respond and then they just send another thing and you realize that sending that message would make it confusing for them. Like this:
Him: Just got back from the festival.
You: Cool! What was it?
He is currently typing the explanation and you say: I love festivals because...
Him sending the message wouldn’t make sense in the context of the message.
