Why does my guy friend tease me ALL the time, he makes fun of my laugh and he mimics it, on my clothes, on the way I speak, he also mimics my voice?

We have been friends for a while, and I like him. I feel so much tension and attraction between us but I’m not sure if he likes me back. He teases me literally all the time, but rarely gives me deep compliments. Last compliment, he said he really loves the way I think, how my mentality works, and my positivity in life. We stare a lot deep in each other’s eyes and we almost find any excuse to touch each other indirectly whether it’s hand brushing or leaning in. Lately, he has been very nervous around me and I can feel it, and he has somewhat became softer around me, he gives me nicknames and he stops the teasing, yet sometimes he gets back at teasing me really bad that it annoys me.

He might like you and not know a healthy way to show it. Or, he was just taught to communicate with people like that. Maybe he grew up with a bunch of siblings and that's all he knows?
