Why does my guy friend never compliments me?

I get complimented a lot by other guy friends I talk, but there is this one guy I am particularly close with, and he never compliments me. He compliments his other female friends, but never me. Instead, he just teases me all the time. I like him, but I feel like maybe I am not pretty enough for him.

Really? I might, I'm currently working up the guts to do just that. If he's like me he probably likes you, i prefer her personality a lot more than anything, her face is just bonus. He might think you're really pretty, just too scared to say it. When it comes to other girls compliments are easy, but it's hard with my crush!

Oh. But it's kind of same with me. But when I see him throwing his compliments around so carelessly, it makes me feel inadequate. The girl might feel that, too.

Well I guess I'll stop. I usually do it because I feel like she likes me, then she doesn't, and I get confused. Or if I see her being friendly with another guy I get really nasty and jealous (working on it) so I get this I don't care I don't need her attitude. Then I flirt with a bunch of girls to feel better but it doesn't work because I only like her.

But he teases in a really mean way. Like, he says that not even animals would like me. That's soooooooo mean. :/ How can a guy say something like that to girl?

Yes, and then he laughs it off and says, "You know I am kidding." It's not a convincing reasoning. He always initiates the conversation, always texts me first, and then start being a tease and makes me feel like I am stupid. :/

Hahah that's so mean lol. I don't wanna be so rude and show him that I can't take jokes. But it sucks if he's being a tease and doesn't find me attractive enough to compliment me lol

I've had guy friends like that. I don't know why they act funny but I chalk it up to they may not want to think that I like them. I don't know why they'd think one little compliment would make me assume so.

Are guys some sadistic devils? He sometimes teases me like a guy who would like me is stupid. That's heartbreaking lol and lately, all his conversations have become just being mean and teasing me. He is so damn confusing :(

I never ignore him, because he always initiate the talking, then it would rude it ignore the conversation, right?
And he told me once that he told his friend something I said to him because he found it funny. Rest, I don't talk to his friends, so I really have no idea if he talks about me or not. Though once we fought, he asked about my life to my friend. But more than that, I don't know. :/

Well, try it once... ask ur friends to help you to ignore him... never walk alone... don't make eye contact... don't reply his text... stop ignoring him when he aggresively come to you and ask u about it... so, if he ask.. tell him how u feel, about him teasing u, did he hates you or something... but don't say u like him yet...

Eeehh... that would be quite mean, lol, but okay, I will try it. It has happened once though. I stopped didn't answer his question correctly in the afternoon, and then he messaged me again at mid night asking the same thing... so I don't know if it counts as anything.

If he likes you, he would do his hardest to talk to you...
If he's not, then he just let it be like that...

But when you start liking someone, you actually start paying extra attention to them, don't you? :( You try to become closer to them in certain ways, and if he goes around complimenting other girls, it just makes me feel like he's not into me, and those other girls are maybe prettier than me and as per his standards.

No, perhaps he's not afraid. Well, maybe he also admires your personality and passions and think that they're the best thing you have, then he compliments them. It doesn't mean he doesn't think you're attractive, as I said, maybe he fears what you will think specifically.

I don't know. We have always been friends, and I don't want him to think that I like him just suddenly by being all lovey dovey so I act friendly like always. But he acts really mean :/ He teases me all the time.

Yeah, he compliments his other female friends pretty and cute. It's sad that other guys compliments me so much, but not the guy whose attention means the most to me. Who said that he doesn't care about me? He was the only person who was there at my bad times. He always gives me good advises when I need them. He is always there to listen to me and always encourages my passion. But the only thing he doesn't do is to ever compliment me on my looks. Maybe he doesn't find me pretty :/
