Why does my friend compliment everyone but me?

Okay so my friend and I met through a guy that was using both of us and two timing both of us we found out she stayed with him. And she caught him looking me up and cheating with other girls and they broke up and we became friends after.
but she compliments people a lot even random people at the club
repost her friends or post them when they go out comment on their pics etc etc.

I always tell her how beautiful she is. But she never says anything back or when we go out she doesn’t post our pics together she doesn’t comment on my pics etc. but she literally ghawks over everyone else’s. she said I was pretty once while we were out drunk lol

but why does she do that? Is it because she doesn’t know me too well enough?

I can tell you mean well, but I don’t think it’s a genuine friendship on her end, and more of a keep your enemies closer sort of thing. It’s seems nice that after what that guy did, you two decided to start being cool, but I bet money she still has feelings for him and trying to keep tabs on any slip ups he has, including interactions with you. I also bet that during her relationship with him, she lost her friends, so being cool with you is also more circumstantial.

Ohh dayummm you could be right. she was with him a lot longer than me a year plus ! I think she might have feeling for him still I don’t and I know that for sure.
He has a new girlfriend and she checks her page every other day she said.
Yeahhh actually he has interacted with me on fb liking my things and she asks about it. Damn

Yeaaah I would definitely say she’s being fake with you, and not over him. There’s no way she should be keeping tabs on his new girlfriend if she was really moving on, it’s obvious she’s leaving that door at least semi open. Then if he’s interacting with you, I am positive she’s seen it, even if she doesn’t say so. Her angle is most likely keeping you close, so if he tried talking to you, you’d feel like a friendly obligation to her not to engage (girl code and all that). She doesn’t want to have to worry about you, even though you know you’re through with him. Girls can be sneaky like that, it’s super unfortunate, especially in your case where you’re genuinely trying to be a friend. If you want to get a better read on her intentions, I would stop talking to her about anything personal, like not one thing because she would use it against you. Then if she talks about him, I would act disinterested. Gossiping about the ex guy can’t be the only thing you have in common if you want the friendship to have some longevity. It has to be her asking other shit, and also complimenting you if you give them to her so often.

Crazy because she tells me “she loves me” a lot and says she’s glad she met me and I’m very sweet etc.. sad...

It really is so disappointing, and you don’t want to think they could do that, but it’s so common man. All those “I love you’s” just give you a false sense of closeness. Like those people who stab you in the back, then when you confront them it’s the whole “oh I’d never do that! I love you you’re like my best friend why would I do that”, blah blah bs. Of course I can be wrong about all of this, and the last thing I’d want to do is drive a wedge between you two if by some chance she is being a decent person. But given what you said, and having dealt with girls like her in my 20s, I can see the writing on the wall and she’s got fake written all over her.
