Women like to assume that men are impressed by degrees/money because that's what impresses women. Men aren't wired the same way as women. If you're fugly it doesn't matter if you have 20 degrees and earn $10 million/year, you ain't getting a quality man. Women always expect the man to give more (not including cases of women who date broke deadbeats) so it's really not a good deal for the guy. Plus she's going to be stressed about her day job and need even more emotional support than the woman with a less stressful job or no job. It's like he's a psychotherapist who has to pay his patient.
