9 years is not that big of a difference. past that and it gets kinda gross and creepy. then again, your friends do have a point. if your boyfriend is kind, hot, sweet, has a decent job and is serious about you, that is great and you can tell your friends to suck it. on the other hand, some old men like to prey on younger, vulnerable girls because they think they are easier to manipulate, lie to, and cheat on.

I think it’s possible my sis in law is just trying to do right by my over protective brother who is also 30. As for my friends, the one advising me with the first opinion dated a serial cheater drug addict (her own age) for five years.. so I guess what does she know! I will proceed with caution though

I know a woman who is 21 and has a 5 year old child - she grew up with a drug-addicted mother and absent father and went through a lot, but is now raising her kid alone and running a successful real estate business. Do you think she is less mature than the average 30 year old?
