What would you do if someone took 6 hours to text back?

So I made a friend and we have been talking. The problem is he take hours to reply. I don't care why he takes long to reply, but why message in the first place if you're gonna do that. So we were having a convo today and he replies to my text after 6 hours. I haven't opened it yet but what should I do now so it doesn't seem like I'm the b**ch who cut him off but liek still wanna be friends. Do I:

1. Send a meme about how he takes forever to respond (but won't he think I'm obssessed?)
2. Leave him on read
3. Leave him in delivered forever

I also dislike it when someone takes forever to reply. I guess that's one of my insecurities.

Perhaps you should try saying something in an indirect manner. I normally use this line,'Hey, since we not chatting much at the moment, let me know when you are free to chat and able to take up a conversation for the mean time I'm just going to whack off to some something essential".

Texting is an asynchronous form of communication.

Women like to text instead of call because they get addicted to that little buzz of dopamine that gets released by their brains every time they get a message notification.

Well fuck that noise. If you want to talk, talk. Texting can and will be interrupted by more important things. It is not a "let's have a 3 hour chat, writing out what would take 10 minutes to say" invitation to feed your dopamine habit.

You can just ask him why he takes so long to reply. Most people aren't sitting on their asses all day doing nothing. I would only be a annoyed if someone im talking to replied to my text after a whole ass day or something. A couple hours isn't a big deal, i myself sometimes reply late. I can't focus on my task if im constantly picking up my phone to reply.
