I asked him if it’s true I “aint shit” compared to the girl and he said “I’d rather not answer on who’s hotter.” Does that mean she is?

I didn’t even ask him to tell me who’s hotter I just asked if it’s true I’m nothing compared to her
and he said he’d rather not answer.
this guy is just my friend but he’s always trying to hit on me.
some people did say it’s not true we are both attractive some say I was prettier but he didn’t wanna answer
then he said “she’s hot af but I prefer blondes” (I’m blonde)
I can’t tell if didn’t want to answer bc it’s his friends ex I was being compared to and he didn’t wanna disrespect his friend or if he’s trying to keep me insecure bc he wants me to himself he’s always making up little stories about other guys I talk to
