I accidentally said some really rude things when drunk?

So this is really out of character for me. But I accidentally called a guy who liked me “weird” when drunk. I think I said I didn’t want to get with him when I did, but I said it honestly because I thought he wasn’t interested in me as he was so shy and barely even talked to me. He overheard what I said and now has followed all my friends back on instagram but didn’t follow me back 😂 everyone apart from me. Seems he holds a grudge against me and I feel very bad about it, I don’t think he’s weird at all and I don’t know why I said that. His friend said he had a crush on me and didn’t know how to act around me. How do I handle this situation?

You did this to a shy guy on top of that. He already had low self esteem likely, and shy people are afraid of speaking a lot of times because they think people will think they are weird. So, super ouch for him.

If you want to save that, and you like the guy honesty is the best way. Tell him exactly why you said that just like you told us. You thought he didn't like you and you did it to cope with that. Tell him the truth is you like him a lot, and it will blow his mind. He will completely forgive you, I have no doubt.

Well if you really care to repair it then you should be telling him that you apologize for what you said and how it's out of character for you to do so
