My ex broke up with me a month ago, Why is he still looking at my statuses?

I was with my ex for 3 years , and he decided to end things about a month ago, which totally crushed me.
He decided to end things because he is older than i am and he felt that we are at different places in our lives and told me that it feels like I’m holding him back in life. He has a well paying job, has a car, and is looking at buying a house now, whereas I’m still in college and I don’t have a very big income.
I posted song lyrics a week ago and he was the first person to view my status , which I didn’t think much of. However , Today is my cousins birthday and I posted about 6 different pictures of her and I on my WhatsApp status, just to wish her a Happy birthday, and My ex looked at every photo.
Why is he still looking at my status when he is the one that didn’t want to be with me? Do you think there is a chance that he regrets his decision and that he will reach out the me again?

Yes, I think he definitely is having regrets. If he comes to you and tells you he realizes he made a big mistake and asks your forgiveness and asks for a second chance, would you give it to him? My advice would be yes, you should, (if he's really sincere), because otherwise, you will always wonder about what might have been. I think anyone deserves one mistake.

And what if he realizes he made a mistake? What good is that to you? You still don't have him. You know, experience is the best teacher. Losing you and having at least a chance to earn back your trust and affection, well, that's something that he might always be grateful for. If you hurt someone and were really, truly sorry you had done it and you wanted to ask forgiveness and make amends, wouldn't you appreciate a gentle answer?

Send him a message and ask hey you broke up with me but I’m curious why you keep looking at my status do you wanna hang out with me sometime however if him looking at your photos bothers you than the best thing is to block him

It doesn’t bother me, I’m kind of hoping he does reach out again. So you think I should message him first? I have been very stubborn about this and I’ve been waiting for him to contact me first.
