Why is the age of consent so high?

Like my math teacher is 23 and sooooo HOT, I would put that woman in my bed and bang her to heaven, Im 16 so i can't legally do that, Like what do they expect, I wish they lowered the age of consent, Its not like she "Raped" me i literally want to f*Ck her brains out, But if i tried, She would be accused of " raping a minor and traumatizing me" Like i understand if a woman or man trys to seduce a little boy or girl that is like 8- 14, that should be illegals, But im 16 i drive a truck and i have a job i literally have to shave and im 6ft 2 Teachers literally call me a young MAN, I feel like i should be able to have a girlfriend that is 18+ and sleep with her if we both give consent, Am i the only one that thinks the minimune age should be 16?

Well where i live in Austria and just googled about how it is for us here. Turns out that we don't even have the concept of "consent". Instead the rules are much more confusing:

From the age of 14, you can have sex with anyone of your choice. Whats not allowed is grown up's "luring" youngers into it in any thinkable way. Basically that means, whenever you have problems as the older one, you are 100% guilty, no matter what really happened.

Moreover, when you are 13, you are legally allowed do have sex with anyone that is not older than 16. Same rules as above apply.
I guess after all they tried of "allow what's happening anyway", e. g. all the drunk parties out there.
At the same time, they try to protect the young as much as possible by saying: if you do it with someone <18 and the slightest problem is coming up, you are automatically guilty.

Now, my conclusion is that i cannot map my local laws to your "age of consent" but in general it is not a good idea that the law grants people under AT LEAST 18 years to legally do sex stuff with much older ones.
The reason for my thinking is that it is totally easy to lure a younger one into doing "things, whatever it might be". Be it using money, mightiness, giving a home or other resources. Older people are most likely easily able to "just talk" younger into something.

Well marriage and relationships can be a lot younger than 18 in my opinion, say, 14 to whatever, I've met people who genuinely have the mental maturity, it's more rare now than centuries ago due to society but they still walk around. The thing is, due to financial responsibilities and the like, that can contribute to the age of 18 being the age to allow most things. Just, if you really are stable i'd say find someone and get married asap to control that lust and start your life. You know, if im not wrong, which I could be, if your teacher likes you back, in some states you can marry at like 16 I believe with parent's consent so, look into that.

I used to think this to, my ancestors where often married at 15 or 16, you know after puberty and the ability make babies.

Society had to pick a age when people are mature enough to make decisions for themselves.

This has the downside of actually holding some people who are more mature back from adulthood and forcing others who are totally un-prepared into it.

It is because we don't have a test yet for people to pass to become legal adults, so an age was picked.

Also older guys love to groom younger girls who don't know any better.

Your teacher probably already has a boyfriend though and even if you were 18, its a crime in most states for a teacher and student to have relations.

kid, this is just embarrassing as hell lmao. i get it, she's hot.. but the age of consent is not high at all. it’s literally 18 and 16 in some states, either way… some 18 and 16 year olds are still mentally and emotionally like 12 years old. you seem to be one of them.

I didn't know they allowed 16-year-olds on here. Oof. I bet that's a mess.

Anyway, I think it's kind of weird for someone of that age to be teaching a class of 16-year-olds, but good on her for her career.

Just bang her in two years when you are LEGAL to avoid the reverse Chris Hansen drama. She'll be around.

But for the love of God if the genders were reversed just by you posting something like this he would get in trouble.

Keep a good head on your shoulders and be safe.

You're young. Focus on getting that money and muscle and you will already be ahead of the game.

Get your mind right too or else you will end up tied to someone for life with a kid at a young age, and it will be harder for you to live it up in your youth.

16 is a good age. In most European and Latin American countries the age of consent is 16, or sometimes even lower. In my country it's 16 and I don't see why it should be higher. A 16 year old can make a decision if they want to have sex or not.

That said, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to have sex with a teacher, no matter how big or small the age difference is.

It'd still be illegal to have sex with your teacher if you were 16...
At least here in Britain we have consent at 16, but you cannot have sex with an adult who is in a position of trust until you are 18. So your teacher wouldn't have sex with you regardless. Though it's pretty weird that you want to do that. Unless you have a picture of your math teacher which could explain things.

There are couples out there and I saw in the newspaper they were dating, she was age 17 and he was age 19 but it appeared that their parents approved and you know for the fact that the two are having sexual intercourse but who knows maybe they have Christian values and are waiting to she turns age 18 but it would be hard for a
couple to hide that the stuff is going on but I have Christian values and believe
in sex after marriage.
