Does this sound like he only wants sex?

I went on a date with a guy, and it went really well. We talked for almost 4 hours. After, we went back to his apartment. He asked me to come, saying that he was hoping it wasn’t too forward, but nothing else was open after our actual date and we wanted to keep it going. I told him I could only stay for a little bit because I had work.
I went, we started watching a movie and making out. He started making moves that I wasn’t too comfortable with on the first date, so I told him and he stopped. When I left, we kissed goodbye but he didn’t text me. I texted this morning saying I had a really good time, and he responded that he had the same and that he would like to see me again before he leaves on a work trip. He asked to take me to dinner.
I am skeptical of this whole thing because I have just been used for sex in the past. It bothers me that he was not the one to text after the date. It makes me feel like he wanted sex and was disappointed he didn’t get it. Any opinions?

So first of all you should not have gone to his place on the first date and specially a movie which usually always leads to making out and them wanting more. This is from past experience. If you have been used in the past then you have to be even more careful. I would have just gone out to the dinner and had him text you. Let him chase you!! But he responded in a good way the fact that he wants to take you out for dinner is good. Make him work for it don't give up your goodies until they earn it. I would say wait until marriage that will get rid of all the guys whose intentions are not good. Honestly men DO want sex but that's why they have to earn it. Take you out on dates, make plans get to know you for YOU. Not for your body first. So be careful if you do decide to go to dinner let it be jus that. Don't beg him because you are the price. Don't be kissing him or holding hands either if you two are not boyfriend and girlfriend. Don't let him get any benefits before he earns it by being consistent

Almost all guys want sex, if not all but I don't want to sound sexist cause some might not actually want it.

He probably wants sex, but he may also want more, Be sure not to give it up if you want more. Soon as you give it to him, he may not want anything beyond that and relationship chances go way down.

They might not though, you probably didn't ruin things with him. Talk to him though, if he insists on you going back to his place and won't drop it, then you have your answer.

there's not enough history yet for it to be certain, but from as much as you've said, it sounds like he is serious.

There's very little to even suggest that he only wants sex, at this point.

First, there's wanting sex on the first date. But he's a guy, so that's standard. It's difficult to read anything in to that.

Second is not texting you first, but considering that you literally texted him the next morning, it's not like he had much time to do that anyways. If he hadn't said anything after 3-4 days, I'd say he probably wasn't that interested. But if you're expecting him to text you on your way out the door, that's a problem on your end.

Guy opinion. You willing went to his apartment and made out on the first date. That's an indicator to the guy that you are okay with havign sex.

You say you've been used for sex in the past. I'm sorry to hear that. If you don't want that to happen in the future, and maybe have some real relationships, think about what you're doing on the first date. Politely turning your date down, saying that you had a good time and you need your beauty sleep, for example, might be better than going to his apartment and making out.

I wouldn't say "ruined". If you'd still like to date him, talk to him, tell him exactly how you feel (it seems you really want to wait until you have sex) and see how he reacts. Based on what he says and does, you'll know what to do... date him again or find some other guy (s) to date.
