What is going on here? please share my your perspective on this! I'm super confused. What is your opinion?

So during school, I was video calling my boyfriend. anyways, my guy friend comes along and tried to look at who I'm talking to. like he's trying to peer over my shoulder. than he started talking to me saying, "what are you doing?" with a smile. I said I was just talking to someone. he tried to keep with a convo and looked like he didn't want to leave. now the thing is, this guy friend and I aren't that close anymore. recently, he'll come and sit with me and just start talking. I feel like be wanted to do that, but he saw I was on the phone. if it was the other way around, I would just say hi and leave then be as they're on the phone talking. but he kept trying to see who I was talking to and didn't want to leave. why is this?
Also, about almost two years ago, I think this guy and I were sort of flirting with each other? I'm not too sure if it's things he would say to all his friends that are girls. Also, he sort of knows about my boyfriend. I posted a photo of my boyfriend on my story and said something nice about him. So he might have an idea? Anyways, what is going on? Is he just really curious? But even then, what friend would be like that if they're not that close anymore?

He might be curious and wanted to catch up. But I think he likes you. Why would he stay when you're on phone? That's just not nice and invades your privacy.

Hopefully not. It will only cause issues. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy. We also used to have a great friendship. But for us but to be that close anymore, and now he wants to sit with me all the time when I'm alone? Or being curious who I'm talking to? It does seem a little strange
