Guy's Behavior

Hi I think this guy likes me all of a sudden? Why?

Hi so this guy let’s call him Jake and I went to the same elementary school, same middle school, and now high school together. We are currently juniors. Ever since I can remember his best friend Nick and him have called me Alexandra even thought I’ve repeatedly asked why they don’t just call me Alex like everyone else which my friends are now pointing out that it’s weird cuz they are the only ones in our grade besides like teachers lol. They both also always snap me happy birthday even though we aren’t close and I do the same cuz I feel bad if I don’t since they do. I thought his friend Nick liked me our freshmen year because he always told me my eyes were beautiful and even like knew things about me I’d never told him. This year Jake is in my math class and he stills calls me Alexandra. On top of that I’ve caught him staring at me which I know such a big deal but it’s something. Also he will like randomly call out my name in class during free time and like wave or try to start a conversation with me out of the blue from across the room which I always like answer but it’s awkward cuz everyone can hear. Also he’s told me that I look more mature this year-I definitely had a glow up since freshmen year meaning like went on acutane, got braces on and off, and started working out. He also has swiped op on some of my stories but always deletes them before I can see what they say. Is this normal for someone I don’t usually talk to or am I just being paranoid. He is very chatty with most people but seems kinda like calm or like anxious around me do with that info what you will.
