Anybody else suck at small talk?

I always had this thing where I'm terrible at small talk. I don't got social anxiety, I don't feel socially awkward. I honestly might have more confidence than the typical person. I nearly mastered the art of being firm and confident, while maintaining respect. I still say please, thank you, ma'am, sir. But people tend only to talk to me when some real conversation and deep ideas and philosophies pop up. It's hard for me to make friends because talking about small things, like events in a day, minor details of someone, sports, girls, whatever, I suck at. Once it transitions into a deep conversation, that's where I excel. So even people with similar interests and views don't gravitate towards me because it's either a serious conversation or none. It's hard for me to build relationships. Any ideas?
