Should I talk to guys just in the way I talk to girls?

I'm an enthusiastic person who like to express my positive feeling directly and compliment people a lot. When I talk to my female friends, I always compliment them and tell them how much I like talking to them. And I do the same when talking to my guys friends because they are my friends. But I think sometimes they find it cringy and might mistake me for having a crush on them. I don't have a lot guy friends, so I really don't know what's the right way to talk to guys. What's the right way to talk to guy friends?

Be cautious with complimenting when it comes to boys, they could really think you like them when it's you just being nice in reality.

Personally, I do the same. Like I don't have a problem with complimenting people. It's sometimes I often do, actually. In high school, I had a very good guy friend and I would compliment him all the time. Whether it was his outfit or hair, etc. My other friend teased me about how I'm going to inflate his ego. At one moment I was like ''Fuck, I need to stop with compliments! He'll think I'm into him.'' but the truth is he knew me well and that I'm like that with everyone. So, yeah I continued to compliment him and he even used to ask me about his outfits or what I thought about his new haircut (he would even show me photos of haircuts and asked me which I thought was the best before going to the stylist haha). On some days, he would be like ''You didn't say anything about my styling today.'' because he got used to compliments 😂

I'd say, you should have in mind how well they know you. Like, do they know you are someone who tends to compliment people, no matter their sex. If they know it's just something you do, then I don't see a problem with it. But if they don't know that or it makes them cringe, I'd say go a bit less on complimenting them.

May I ask one thing more -- when I sense according to guys' reaction that they might be a bit weirded out by my compliments, should I explain to them by saying things like "I am just someone who likes to compliment people, please don't cringe"?

You could do it if you want to ofc (or if you think it's necessary). Maybe say something like ''I'm sorry if it made you cringe or uncomfortable, I just have a tendency to compliment people.''
