Girls, what's your honest opinion on cheerful guys?

Several of my friends (both genders) have told me they enjoy my company, but that's mostly due to me being funny or just doing something out of the blue that would be amusing to most. But there's one part of my personality I've always doubted whether it's annoying or not; I'm usually always cheerful and lively.

Please tell me your honest opinions: Do you find that /less attractive/ compared to more composed guys? Not "serious", just laid back compared to the usual excited-ness of people like me.

A lot of people exteriorize their insecurities by being funny and joking around. That creates a certain bond because people like to be relaxed and telling good jokes or being funny tends to relax people.

However, life is not just made of jokes and laughter. If cracking jokes is the only way that people appreciate you, then you have a problem because you cannot go through life making jokes. This is your way to hide something that you don't want people to know or to hide your insecurities.

Sooner or later, you will have to show your true character, be it at work or when the situation calls for it.

People do like being around those that make them smile but there is more to life than being funny. Go to the bottom of your issue and try to do something about it.

Uh, it's not just due to me being funny, I'm not even that much of a 'joker' type. Just I tend to do random stuff and am pretty talkative.

I guess I should have phrased it properly, but I didn't exactly wanna type "/insert personality trait/, /insert another trait/" in this message because that wasn't my main focus. I was just giving an overview. There's a lot more to my personality than being funny. There's no "issue" or insecurities here at all, but thanks for your concern.

I appreciate the response, but uh, my question was about cheerfulness. lol

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.
And it’s always better to be yourself rather than faking it just to fit in with others.
