Am I a bad girlfriend or does he have a problem?

So I was at my boyfriend house (we are both 22 and we live with our family) and I was there for 3 days and everything was fine. But today he started to act weird because of a video game that he play with others. He lost something there.. a battle or something and he was getting really nervous for no reason. After that I told him to do something in the room and he starting doing it but with such an aggresion.. throwing things and even hurting himself in the process, by mistake. Then he took a nap and I was spending time on my phone or with his little brother because in the end I was at his house and it was kind of weird to me to be in this situation with him.. So I was waiting for him to wake up, hoppelly more calm. But he woke up the same.. So I was thinking that maybe we can talk about what is actually bothering him, so I told him so maybe go for a walk. He said ok to that but then.. while playing that game he starting to swear and then beat the keyboard with his fists. My heart was raicing then and I was so scared that I started to cry.. He didn't touch me but only by his attitude I was so scared and afraid of him. I told him to give me a ride home. He did give me a ride home and he said only that he had a hard day and it happens. Now my question is: Do you think that it was better to stay and talk to him? Maybe be more supportive instead of going home? Or it's better that I gave him space and time to calm down and be by himself for a time? I m sorry for the language mistakes that I made, I hope you understand tho. Thank you all!

You did all that you could, don’t beat yourself up for that. There’s not much else you could’ve done - You suggested some calming activities, and waited for him patiently to calm down. It was best to get yourself out of the situation if he was being aggressive and angry, even if it wasn’t directed at you.


Now, I think he does have anger issues, however, I don’t know if it was just that one time he was angry, or if he does that all the time? Usually, when things really bother you throughout the day, and then losing a video game, it might have just pushed him to the edge. But he should learn how to manage his anger better. It should emotional immaturity for him. I suggest that he should at least talk to a therapist or talk with you about what is bothering him instead of taking it out on things.
