I'm kind of an ass.. so I have to pretend to not take myself seriously just to function in everyday life.

Then when I try to date, that's like another layer of masking on top of the first.

Then after I get comfortable with a woman, I start showing who I really am and suddenly it's my fault that she's "traumatized" or whatever the fuck she tells her social media "friends."

Is this a common guy thing?

Yeah I feel ya dude. Thing is, smart men are a lottttt more common than smart women, most girls are actually basic as fuck and just can’t communicate on my level at all. In the past I used drugs to dumb myself down enough to enjoy their company, but now I just don’t try. I wanna find someone I can be myself around, and she can’t be exactly like me either, tried that and there’s just no spark I feel like I’m having an internal dialogue and it’s boring lol. I’ve met a couple of girls in my life I truly enjoyed talking to, but for various reasons I couldn’t date em (not single, not in my country)

in short, there is probably someone out there who you can be yourself around. How much effort are you going to put into finding her?
