We had been so far only chatted. We don’t know each other well at all. We started to chat quite regularly. We exchanged numbers and he then proceeded to ask me out (but only after I hinted at taking things beyond just chatting).

what do you think? Interested? Just friendly?

Very few guys are going to go out of there way to meet a girl in person to have a conversation that he doesn't hope escalates to something else. We have sisters and cousins to have a conversations with for the sake of conversation. Out of those few that would a high percentage of them are not into women. I do want to leave a disclaimer that's says I'm kind of talking out of my ass based purely on speculation because I don't have any real evidence to back up my assumptions nor have I questioned guys in this matter. I am a guy it's my opinion based on the many conversations I've had with guy friends. So take it for what it is.
