My Boyfriend and I Meet For Lunch Everyday. There, the first thing i do is delete spam emails and respond to messages.

He says he don't like it, that the time is for us and he would rather I do that another time. But I personally don't find a problem with it. I mean, we can still talk while I'm texting. I like to multitask but he is now saying I don't respect him and the next time I do that, we will have a serious problem. Is he not overreacting?

Guys please who is wrong here? I don't want to fight or lose him over such a small thing cause I can see how he dislikes it.

When you do this whether you mean it or not your basically saying "oh hey I know we are on a date buuut my phone is both more interesting and more important than my time with you"

It's rude for a man to do it to a woman and it's wrong for a woman to do it to a man

If you really enjoy being with him then put your phone down, kiss each other (on the cheek at least) and go about your date without the phone

All you need to do is to stop doing things he dislikes. I agree with him. It is rude for you to text someone when you are with him. It would be the same as if you were talking to someone else on the phone when you were with him. If some guy did that to me I would tell him I'll catch him another time since he would rather talk to them than me and leave.

If I'm talking to you, I want you to look me in the eye and pay attention, and not typing away on your phone.
If you want to clear your spam emails and message others, then do it while you are alone by yourself. Don't do it while others are trying to have a conversation or hanging out with you.

You’re in the wrong. It’s very annoying when you’re trying to engage w someone who’s constantly on their phone. They may here you. But are they really hearing you? He’s taking it as whatever you’re doing on your phone is more important than him. You’re taking him for granted. My brother does that at times when I’m talking to him.
