Why is he ignoring me?

I've been talking to a guy for a while now. He responds quickly, starts many conversations and we have a lot in common. He also sent a follow request on instagram and I accepted it and started following him back. Then a few days ago he started to respond more slowly and he has also unfollowed me on instagram. I'm in his private story on snapchat and he almost only posts story’s when he's not responding to my messages. Why is he doing this?

He achieved what he wanted and that is to get your attention.

Now that he has it, there is nothing new to try to gain and like with everything new, it loses its shine after a while. You guys place way too much importance on social media and whether someone follows you or not.

For many, losing a follower is equivalent to the collapse of the world. Try to socialize people that are in flesh and blood and not just those that are made of 0s and 1s.

He could also be busy with other things and placing his social presence on hold for a while. Best will always to ask a person face-to-face rather than to speculate.
