I met this guy online (I initiated) and we texted all that night. He asked me if I wanted to go have drinks with him the next day and I said sure. We had a great time. We laughed and talked as if we had known each other for years. We talked about life, relationships, family, all of that jazz.
During the date, I mentioned I was a little cold. He came sat next to me so I could get warm. We sat there and talked until we got put out by the owner.
He was parked next to me so he gave me a hug and we both drove away. I messaged him when I made it home and then he messaged me saying that he made it home. We said our good nights.
The next couple of days were good. We were texting back and forth. However, now the text messages have slowed down a lot. The first time, I didn't hear from him for a whole day. The second time, it was two days. Now, it's kinda hit or miss. It may be a day before I hear from him or almost two days before I hear from him. I'm so confused now!
Whenever I initiate a text to him, he immediately text back. Whenever he initiates a text with me, I noticed that he now calls me sweetheart. However, the conversations are short. I can ask a question and he may not answer it until the next day.
He compliments me often through text and does ask for photos of me. Recently I invited him over to hang out. He didn't answer yes or no. He said, you're so sweet. Huh?
Also, a bit of history: He's recently divorced. His ex served him papers, then packed up one day and left. He didn't know where she was for about 6 months. He ran into her at a friend's house - the friends didn't know they were in the process of getting a divorce. It was a very awkward situation for everyone. He has a teenage daughter that lives with him full time and he's trying to switch jobs. So maybe he's mentally preoccupied? Maybe he's not ready for a relationship? Or I'm going to fast? I just wish I knew what he was thinking or at least if he's interested in me. Any Suggestions?
