Why would a grown man with wife and kids stalk me?

He’s a psychopath neighbor of mine who has been evicted for being a very horrible person to me, also he’s a threat to me as well with his behavior. After his eviction he somehow tracked me down to see what hotel I was staying in. He’s a man in his 40’s with a wife and kids and this isn’t normal. His mindset and priorities are all fucked up. Maybe he’s looking forward for getting locked up eventually and charges pressed against him? As of right now he has disorderly conduct against him. But I’m trying to get a restraining order. So can someone explain this?

Why do you need an explanation? That doesn't serve any purpose. Just take steps to protect yourself. (that should be what is most important) You didn't give any examples of what he has done. Stalking can mean different things.
