How will a guy react if he found out I lied about my age? I’m way older than he thinks?

I didn’t mean to get myself into a pickle, I lied thinking I would never see him again. Things escalated and we are now 5 month down the line together. Him thinking I am 30, when I’m actually 40. He is 31. I’m normally a very honest person. But jst off the cuff lied about my age while out drinking, as some women do as they are very sensitive about their old age. Now I’m like ahhh

It is too late to make it look as an honest mistake or a joke because after 5 months, you would have had plenty of time to take corrective action.

Now, after so long, it does really look bad that you cheated by almost 10 years and the guy is not very observant not to notice that age gap.

If I was in the guy's shoes, I would probably sever this relation on the grounds that you are not very reliable and honest. I can understand that you gave a false age when intoxicated but latest after 48 hours, one should expect to correct that "mistake".

I would tell him in all honesty because the longer you wait, the worse it looks for you. However, you have to take into account that he may not want to see you again. That is a risk you have to take.

If it's any consolation, I'd be happier that you're older and not younger. He may wonder what else you lied about. I think you should have a good talk with him and put it all on the table.
