Shy guy kinda hard to read?

This guy appears to like me, he is very shy and nervous. When I approach him he stares intensely and his face gets red. I notice he stands pretty close to me. He does have a hard time with working up the courage to talk to me in front of people. He is way more relaxed when we talk alone, however, he is also much more easy going around other people and other women? Any thoughts.

It's a thing (when your shy) to be more relaxed around girls you have no romantic interest in. He's prob afraid of saying something in a way not as intended and you taking it in a weird way. Having a lot of other people around prob makes him feel anxious

Insecure most likely or anxious about being judged by people or is just introverted because i used to act like that im not 100 pervent sure but just my opinion

I think he really likes you and it's hard to talk to someone we really like and we don't want to mess anything up

Could be right, he sometimes walks by me and doesn't really say a word. I figure he is super nervous or is worried about coming off awkward.

Try to ask if he does in private and tell him if you say yes or no we will still hang out and talk as usual and cause I trust you and care about you and won't think of you different and see where it goes

Just keep talking to him and asking him questions and getting to know him, He just has to get use to you a bit.
