Why are some men unnecessarily mean and rude to girls they don’t like?

Like what is the problem with just being polite but disinterested? I’ve seen it where a guy loses interest in a girl and he goes from being nice to her to being EXTREMELY rude and goes out of his way to insult or belittle her. They will act like the girl suddenly has a disease or something. Or if a guy isn’t attracted in the first place, and starts calling the girl names. Like what is their problem? Why are they so rude?

This is not all men of course, only a handful.

I can like someone personally but not be attracted. I can also totally dislike a person. But be tolerate of them and not be mean.
