AAm I too nice and forgiving if people who hurt and mistreated me still think its appropriate to invite me to hang out?

I figure im way too nice and forgiving because people who treated me like shit and treat me like shit are people who i always remain nice to. Later on i bump into them and they act like nothing happened. It just speaks to how nice and forgiving i am right? That people have no clue how much i really want NOTHING to do with them?

I guess it would depend on the severity of how they hurt or mistreated you. For someone who did something really bad, yes you are being too forgiving. This is also true of those who constantly do it, regardless of how they are hurting you. You are basically showing them that they can get away with it, so they likely will never change and know they can continue mistreating you without consequence.

You seem to have a kind heart and that is great for a lot of reasons. It is also going to bite you for a lot of other reasons, like you mention here. Best to not forget those that mistreated or hurt you. No reason to be mean but you can simply ignore them or rather cut them out of your life.

People make mistakes and deserve forgiveness. Sometimes there is no forgiving. At least that is the way it is with me. If someone hurts me really bad, I'm never going to forgive them. That would be something like cheating or betraying my trust. Especially true of those who do it over and over.

Generally what happens is that I run into them by accident or they are people who still are neighbors or i have to see them at work. You can't just cut those types of people off lmao. But i dont actslly accept their invites to hang out. I act like im busy.
