Why did he unblock me? (Read before judging please)?

I was getting to know this guy, who I thought wanted to get to know me as well cause he really invested in it. Long story short his intention is to leave our town forever this year, so while he was on a trip he ended things through text. I gave him space and tried to reach out a couple times cause I thought the right thing was to see each other, say our goodbyes and leave things amicably. He refused to meet up. So, texted my goodbye, blocked him on whatsapp to avoid texting him ever again and unfollowed him on instagram. I don't want someone in my life who I now believed didn't have good intentions to start with and couldn't even handle things maturely. He then blocked me on instagram, I suspect to retaliate. I unblocked him some time ago because I got over it and don't like holding grudges, nor having this situation having power over me. I realized he unblocked me after that on instagram because the app recommended him to me. I'm curious as to why he seems to be copying my behavior?

You can't say he didn't have good intentions to start with. Sometimes things change, feelings evolve, etc. which would cause him to break up.

You don't know anything about the situation. When he asked me out on a date the first time he already knew his plans were to leave. And those are the kind of things you have to let the other person know pretty early on to let the other person decide if they're cool with. As long as both people want/are looking for the same thing, either being hook up or relationship, its fine as long as they both know it

He probably still has feelings for you, but you should have left him on blocked.
