Why does my male friend think every woman is in love with him, and rejects them?

My male friend is a jerk sometimes. He always tells everyone how every woman is in love with him and boasts about how he just had to reject their desperate advances. I have seen these women and half of them don’t even like him like that.

This girl called him a jerk the other day (because he is), and he said “she’s only lashing out because she’s salty I didn’t want her like she wanted me”. Like no, it’s because you’re rude af as a person. Why does he act like this? He also seems to enjoy rejecting girls and pretends they liked him way more than he liked them when it wasn’t true.

Yes. He puts down his ex girlfriend constantly saying she’s ugly and he never wanted her, etc. He calls other women fat and ugly but then hooks up with them
