What would make a man continue to contact a woman who has told him she doesn’t want anything to do with him?

I told him to stop calling and texting me however he still decided to contact me and decided to come to my house when he wasn’t invited. I’ve said in so many different ways (nice and mean) for him to fuck off and that I don’t want him. He’ll stop for a few days- weeks then starts his shit all over. I’m on the verge of getting police involved. I’ve never met a person this obsessed in my life smfh.
