I have been friends with this guy for many years. Recently our friendship has been a lot more physical. We cuddle, makeout and have sex. Before we only shared deep emotional connection. We see each other every week and text almost daily.

He says he doesn't have feelings for me and doesn't want a relationship with me. I am quite confused because he also said that he doesn't share a connection like this with anyone else. He hasn't had casual relationships before and sex means something to him.

Why does he act this way? Why doesn't he want me?

Well he lied to you it sounds like. He most likely wanted to sound more genuine by saying he hasn’t done hook ups and sex means a lot to him just so you would be more comfortable about opening up that side to you because he knows what you want. You need to look at his actions, stop paying attention to what he said. He’s having casual sex with you , without wanting a relationship. Hate to break it to you, but it’s probably not going to be more than what it is now since he’s serious about not wanting a relationship. You two are bound to burn bridges with each other because both of you want different things which he purposely wasn’t transparent about.

People can't explain why they don't love someone else- if they don't feel it they just won't.

If you let a guy have sex with you he will- it doesn't mean something deeper, even though they'll try to flatter you so you don't feel bad about it.

What's happening is that the guy doesn't see you as a romantic partner.

Obviously sex doesn't mean very much to him, if he only wants to have sex with you, without having a relationship.

It could be that your personalities just don't line up in a romantic way. Or, maybe he doesn't value intimacy with you in the same way because he's been able to have you without giving you that level of commitment. It would be tough for me to say without seeing you guys interact in person.
